The Cigarette Scenario

Welcome to k&j sun protective clothing!  Parents know that there is nothing more  precious  than our children.   We will do anything to protect them from harm and ensure their happiness. Now, imagine this.  Imagine seeing a baby smoking a cigarette.  Jaws would drop, authorities would be notified, and the responsible parties would be promptly committed.  Would the same reaction be elicited if a child was playing outside without sunscreen or sun protective clothing?  The answer should be a resounding YES!

Here is the scary part: sunburns, and unprotected exposure to ultraviolet light, are just as dangerous as cigarettes.  Like tobacco, the Department of Health and Human Services has declared ultraviolet light a carcinogen (cancer causing agent).  Just one blistering sunburn in childhood doubles the lifetime risk of melanoma—yikes!

So mom and dad remember: as part of a commitment to instill healthy living habits in your kids, ensure that sun protection is incorporated into their routine 365 days a year.

Be well, and welcome once again to our site. We hope to keep you consistently well informed on children and skin health.
